A 37-year-old cyclist from Msida remains hospitalized at Mater Dei Hospital after a collision with a concrete mixer on Valley Road in Birkirkara on Friday morning.

How the Collision Happened

The Malta Police Force confirmed that the incident occurred around noon on Friday when a concrete mixer operated by a 25-year-old driver from Marsascala was reversing onto Valley Road. Dashcam footage examined by investigators shows the cyclist striking the vehicle's rear end, apparently unable to brake in time. Neither party has been charged, and police investigations remain active. Hospital officials have not yet disclosed the extent of the cyclist's injuries.

The Malta Police Force will review dashcam evidence and witness accounts to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision and whether any traffic violations occurred. The outcome of this investigation will establish whether any charges are warranted under traffic or safety regulations.
